Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated: May 24, 2026.
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") supplements the Terms of Service. Violations may result in immediate suspension or termination.
1. Prohibited content
You may not use SocialScalr to create, send, store, or distribute content that:
- Is unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or misrepresents the sender's identity.
- Harasses, threatens, defames, or intimidates any person, or constitutes hate speech.
- Sexually exploits or endangers minors in any way.
- Promotes terrorism, mass violence, self-harm, or illegal weapons.
- Infringes any intellectual property, privacy, or other legal right of a third party.
- Promotes pyramid schemes, payday lending, get-rich-quick schemes, or other categories Resend or Square prohibit.
- Distributes malware, phishing links, or anything intended to gain unauthorized access to systems or data.
2. Prohibited behaviors
You may not:
- Send unsolicited bulk messages in violation of CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR e-Privacy, or any comparable law.
- Buy, sell, or rent lead lists, then load them into SocialScalr without a lawful basis for processing.
- Bypass, attempt to bypass, or modify the safety caps, daily limits, anti-abuse, or rate-limiting mechanisms.
- Use SocialScalr from a single account to act on behalf of multiple unrelated brands or clients without an Agency plan (or a separate written reseller agreement).
- Share login credentials. Teammates must use the built-in Team feature.
- Scrape, copy, or replicate the SocialScalr Service itself, or use it to build a competing product.
- Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without written permission (we run a responsible-disclosure program at [email protected]).
- Submit fraudulent or stolen payment information.
- Use referral / affiliate programs deceptively (self-referrals, fake signups, paid-traffic farm referrals).
- Impersonate another person or company.
3. LinkedIn-specific guidance
SocialScalr's Chrome extension acts inside your own LinkedIn session. LinkedIn's User Agreement restricts automated activity. To minimise the chance of action against your LinkedIn account:
- Keep daily caps at or below the defaults we ship.
- Personalise outreach with merge fields and real research.
- Use working-hours scheduling so activity matches a real human's schedule.
- Do not run multiple automation tools simultaneously on the same LinkedIn account.
- If LinkedIn restricts your account, pause SocialScalr and follow LinkedIn's recovery process.
You acknowledge SocialScalr is not responsible for any action a third-party platform may take against your account on that platform.
4. Resource limits
Each plan has limits described on our pricing page. You may not intentionally consume disproportionate resources (storage, compute, bandwidth) or design workflows that do so. We may rate-limit or temporarily throttle accounts that impact other customers' experience.
5. Reporting violations
To report a violation by another SocialScalr user, email [email protected] with as much detail as you can share (offending message, time, any identifiers). We investigate every report.
6. Enforcement
We may, at our discretion and without liability, suspend, restrict, or terminate any account that violates this AUP, with or without notice depending on severity. For first violations of minor rules, we typically warn first. For serious violations (illegal content, abuse, security threats, fraud) we terminate immediately and may report to law enforcement.
7. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be announced by email or in-product banner at least 30 days before they take effect.
