What we look at
- Hook strength (first 210 chars). Mobile truncates at ~210. The first 2-3 lines determine click-through to "see more".
- Total length. 1,200-1,800 chars is the sweet spot. Under 500 punishes on dwell time; over 2,500 has diminishing returns.
- External links in body. LinkedIn penalises by 40-60% reach. Move link to first comment.
- Hashtag count. 3-5 relevant ones fine. 0 or 10+ both hurt.
- Paragraph structure. Short paragraphs (1-3 sentences) read better than walls of text.
- "@" mentions. Tagging real people increases reach via their network.
- Question presence. Posts with questions get 2x comment rate.
- Number specificity. Specific numbers ("4,200 invites") outperform vague ("a lot").
- Hype words. "Revolutionary", "game-changer", "absolutely amazing" hurt credibility.
- Emoji count. 0-3 fine. 5+ reads cluttered.
